World Building Automation Controls Systems 2024/R2023
March 2024
The global BACS product market grew by nearly 6% in 2023 to reach USD 7.1 bn. However, the market continues to show wide variations between individual countries. A common feature of all markets is the exceptional demand for building analysis and optimisation, which manifests itself principally in strong sales growth of software and sensors.

HVAC Controllers 2023
December 2023
BSRIA has in December 2023 published a new study providing an overview of the total market for HVAC controllers in the UK and US. BSRIA’s regular BACS studies cover building controllers, room controllers and HVAC controllers installed with BACS. However, a high share of HVAC equipment is installed with embedded controls, which in most cases would be excluded from the BACS numbers.

World Building Automation Controls Systems 2023/R2022
March 2023
The building automation control (BACS) market increased in 2021 and in 2022, but suppliers also faced issues relating to supply and material price increases. The market growth in 2022 has partly been fuelled by price inflation, but most geographic markets also experienced organic growth.

World Market for Building Controls 2019
March 2020
The BACS market is changing as never before. It is morphing from one which has essentially consisted of products which were installed within buildings mainly to manage HVAC, into one in which the building system accesses a vast array of data, updating in real time, both from inside the building and from the wider environment, and uses this to optimise the energy performance of the building but also to achieve objectives such as comfort, wellbeing and productivity.

Convergence - IoT in Commercial Buildings 2019
by BSRIA (November 2019)
Connectivity is talked about due to a number of key trends such as increases in employee mobility and focus on wellbeing. BSRIA believe there is a need for reliable numbers for connected devices in commercial buildings. Most of the published numbers are exaggerated as they often include consumer devices and or/smart home devices. Study uses the IT/Ethernet network as the base for estimating number of connected devices in commercial buildings. Also included is a overview of wireless technologies.
