Consultancy and design reviews

Contact Compliance Non-Dwellings
Early involvement from BSRIA on large or complex developments can ensure airtightness targets are reached

BSRIA provides design scrutiny and on-site consultancy prior to a airtightness testing. This will ensure air leakage is minimised right from the design stage. This will help your building pass Building Regulations Part L and Scottish Building Standards first time. Design reviews can also be combined with sample testing to demonstrate compliance where buildings are too large or complex for a full airtightness test.

Furthermore, we can help you exceed the current Part L Building Regulations requirements, to build the most airtight and, therefore, most energy efficient building.

It is never too early to involve BSRIA in your project. We can help at any stage in the construction process; from design reviews of architectural drawings, how to specify an airtightness test, to on-site inspection during construction.

Designers and architects need to know what makes a building inherently airtight. BSRIA can help to identify where leakage paths are likely to occur so they can be designed out or at least sealed properly. We can also help building services designers to understand the reduced need for heating and cooling requirements of an airtight building, with less need for design margins in the building services.

We are always willing to provide free CPD presentations on designing and building for defined airtightness. We can also provide toolbox talks on preparation for airtightness testing.
