Electric boilers for residential heating are a lesser-known electric source of heating than heat pumps. BSRIA’s research indicates that they are indeed a growing market, especially in certain parts of the residential heating market or in certain applications. Electrification policies, familiarity with the concept of heating by a boiler and ease of installation benefit them. They are very much an “under the radar” market, difficult to predict, as renewable sources gradually replace fossil fuel heating sources. This overview focuses on the state of the electric boilers’ market, looking at drivers, and 5-year forecast.
