New site waste regulationsApril 2008

Site Waste Management Plans Regulations took effect in England from 6 April 2008. They require all construction projects over £300,000 to have a Site Waste Management Plan providing a structure for systematic waste management at all stages of a project's delivery. The plans must focus on on-site operations and identify an individual responsible for resource management, types of waste generated, management options for wastes, use of appropriate and licensed waste management contractors, monitoring and reporting of resource use and the quantity of waste.

For full details on the new site waste regulations visit the Office of Public Information web site.
