Modern Built Environment KTN near-market innovations competitionDecember 2009

The Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network (MBE KTN) is delighted to announce the presence of the Innovation Future Zone at ecobuild 2010 between 2nd and 4th March, and launch a competition for opportunities to showcase near-market innovations within the Zone.

The Zone is being organised in partnership between the MBE KTN, the Technology Strategy Board, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Nanotechnology and Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Networks to showcase near-market innovations which assist in meeting the challenges posed by the need to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon faced by the built environment.

If your organisation has an innovation resulting from research projects, especially if it has involved collaboration with industry, and you have a prototype or demonstrator piece which will fit on to a 40cm by 40cm plinth you are encouraged to submit an entry to the competition.

All competition entries will be judged by an expert panel consisting of Zone partners and other independent industry experts with the winning 25 submissions being notified in January 2010.

Leading up to ecobuild details of the winning entries will be displayed on partner websites to allow visitors to vote for the innovation that they think makes the biggest overall contribution and potential business impact for industry. Visitors to the Zone during ecobuild will also be able to cast their votes leading to the overall winning innovation being announced on the final day of the exhibition.

To enter your innovation into the competition please download and complete the entry form and email it to the MBE KTN via information@mbektn.co.uk by Friday 8th January 2010.
