The most recent phase of the ErP was introduced on 26th September 2018, setting maximum nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission levels that domestic and light commercial boilers up to 400 kW in size will need to meet. According to the legislation a boilers maximum NOx emissions can`t be higher than; 120 mg / KWh for oil-fired boilers and 56 mg / KWh for gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) boilers. The reason NOx levels are under increasing scrutiny is the effect they can have on air quality and health, especially in urban areas where a combination of NOx from both road vehicles, heating plant, and industry, can often combine to form high pollution levels.
The Testo 300 flue gas analyser offers the capability to have an NO sensor fitted either at point of ordering or retrofitted at a later date. The unit also has other key features which enable it to work effectively on a wide range of boilers from domestic sized up to 400 kW, these including a unique automatic ‘dilution’ system which enables the analyser to go beyond its normal CO measurement limit of 8,000 ppm and keep measuring up to 30,000 ppm without risk of damage to the CO sensor.
The instrument’s innovative smart style operation incorporating a 127 mm HD full colour display provides smartphone-type functionality, it also offers the user an integral customer site database for efficient record keeping, and built-in Wi-Fi meaning that no smartphone app is needed to work the device. Additionally, the long-life sensors designed to give at least 5 years normal operating life mean that the Testo 300 product is set to be the benchmark product for both domestic and light commercial boiler servicing & commissioning engineers.
