Job Description
BIM Technicians are responsible for incorporating all of the functions, components, construction procedures and maintenance protocols into one CAD design.
This is essentially pulling together all the information from the different aspects of the project and presenting it in one design.
Entry Routes and Competencies Required
Degree
- Or equivalent
- In subjects such as Architecture, Construction or Architectural Technology
- A-Level requirements will vary depending on your choice of subject
Relevant experience
- Particularly in the use of relevant design softwares
Salary Range
Salaries vary depending on experience, the company and location of the job, However, per year, you could expect to earn;
- Newly trained Technician - £25,000 - £30,000
- Trained Technician with experience - £30,000 - £50,000
- Senior or Chartered Technician - £45,000 - £60,000
Professional Qualifications and Career Development
BIM Technicians are able to work and progress towards moving into management roles.
