Overview

This is an external training course run by our partner The Water Management Society. 

Managing closed systems can be a critical function of maintaining a healthy building. Understanding closed systems and how they operate and how they can be controlled and monitored is important. 

This course, delivered by The Water Management Society and accredited by City & Guilds, explains this and demonstrates this through practical training and demonstrations.

Those who are responsible for closed systems (including managers, owners, facilities managers and maintenance personnel) & individuals/companies who carry out treatment, routine sampling, testing, and inspections of these systems, including service providers will find this of great interest. So too will those who are considering carrying out their own monitoring work or checking/replacing outside contractors.

The day includes extensive instruction in the Practical Training Area on how to undertake the chemical testing required and a discussion on the results and sampling methods required. Students ability to follow instructions, work by themselves, work safely in respect to their own safety and the safety of others and account for their actions in a clear unambiguous written record will be observed and assessed.

Assessment: 60 minute written exam. Overall pass mark of 70%. A resit is possible for anyone failing the exam for an additional fee.
