Will the hood put a back pressure on the system being tested and this influence the results?

The instrumentation can create a small back pressure on some systems, but as they are often used as proportional balancing tools this effect is the same on each part of the ventilation system being checked. Hence the overall balancing ratio's remain constant so any system back pressue has a negligible effect on the results.

The Sauermann DBM 620 balometer has been designed for the measurement of air volume from ceiling diffusers and grilles. Supplied in the bundle configuration with the 610 x 610 mm, 720 mm x 720 mm, 720 mm x 1320 mm, 420 mm x 1520 mm & 1020 mm x 1020 mm hoods with collapsible space saving frames along with a compact storage case. The DBM 620 measuring unit communicates with smartphone or tablet devices via Bluetooth using the free easy to use SmartKap mobile App available from Google Play or Apple App store for the display and reporting of measurement data
