Why did you become a trainer?

I have worked as a consultant for over 35 years and enjoyed helping the industry overcome problems with complex design challenges. I have always had a strong passion for team and individual development and have taken a leading role in this over the last 10 years. I feel that now is a great time for me to share my knowledge and experience through the training that BSRIA undertakes.

Why did you get involved in training on Mechanical Building Services?

The interplay of energy, systems and the environment in buildings has always been of importance to me. As has the appropriate balancing of the complex needs of all parties involved in the design and building construction process. My experience allows me to share the BSRIA guidance in a practical way to help those both new to building services and those with experience to develop a deeper understanding for the benefits of the projects they deliver.

What do you enjoy most about training?

I enjoy the interaction and the use of scenarios to help individuals understand and imbed core concepts. I love the need to think on your feet, dipping into your experience to support questions as they arise. How do you describe your teaching style? I have a passionate but relaxed teaching style making use of story telling as appropriate to help all follow the subject matter. What would you say is the top takeaway from your course? Individuals after the course should better understand building services more so that they can be more actively involved in this critical aspect of any building no matter their role or discipline.
