Dr Pamela Simpson

Professional overview

Dr Pamela Simpson CBiol FRSB, FWMS, MICorr is a Chartered Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and Water Management Society. She established Whitewater Technologies Limited in 1998, before which she spent over eight years working in the speciality chemicals industry, initially as European Technical Director of the Industrial Biocides Division of a major chemicals manufacturing and processing company.

She has developed a broad knowledge of the application of microbial control techniques in product preservation and antimicrobial surface protection, process water control, and microbial issues within both domestic water systems and closed heating and cooling systems for both healthcare, new‐builds and commercial premises. Her recent work involves expert work for microbially‐influenced corrosion (MIC) in a range of commercial and healthcare buildings of hot and cold domestic water systems and MIC in closed heating and cooling systems.

She was on  the Steering Committee for the BSRIA BG29/2020: Pre-commission cleaning of pipework systems and is Author of BSRIA BG50/2021: Water treatment for closed heating and cooling systems. She is actively involved in the Water Management Society committee and is joint Chair of the committee for Waterline Magazine. She is also actively involved in the CSCA committee and is involved in auditing of CSCA members. 

She is an approved trainer for Legionella awareness courses for water treatment engineers.
