Recalling positive outcomes from the COP26 in Glasgow, where the objective of keeping 1.5 degree target alive has been achieved, he reminded that cooperation on climate and nature is in our collective self-interest, despite, often profound, differences.
Dramatic events of 2022 have provided a set back and even though countries and companies are making tangible progress on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recent reports suggest that we are now heading to 1.7 degrees warming by the end of the century.
We have witnessed several warning signs and wake-up call events again in 2022, therefore COP27 must be about Action.
