BSRIA’s BG 65, Floor Plenum Airtightness, has long been the industry adopted guidance document and methodology for air leakage testing of raised access plenum floors. Working with industry stakeholders, BSRIA has authored a new test standard BTS 4/2024: Airtightness Testing of Raised Access Plenum Floors, which now supersedes BG 65.
The new test standard recognises the challenges associated with the air leakage of small floor areas, whilst also providing specifiers, designers, installers, and certifiers with a single minimum acceptance criterion. This revised approach removes any ambiguity associated with multiple acceptance criteria for air leakage. The testing methodology has also been enhanced to provide a comprehensive measurement technique, eliminating the need to consult additional standards.
Specifying BTS 4/2024 can support an effective air distribution solution that realises design intentions for optimised operational performance.
