Retrotec 451 110V hire kit | Duct leakage tester

Contact Instrument Solutions

The Retrotec 450 series are small yet high power positive and negative duct leakage testers which can test systems to pressures beyond 5 kPa. Used with the DM32-20 smart test gauge with touchscreen LCD, this system is intuitive to setup and use.

With a fan weighing just 9 kg, and the full kit in its case weighing only 16 kg, this duct leakage tester is a truly portable system allowing the engineer access to test points other units will not allow.

Features

  • Fast automatic documentation with simple to use software that creates custom reports with your company logo. (June 16 - Free of charge Beta version of the software is available to download only from www.retrotec.com only)
  • The 450 series DucTesters can be run directly via the DM32-20 smart gauge which contains all the formula needed to calculate the applicable test standard leakage parameters .
  • Wireless capability enables the fan to be run via your iPhone or Android device

DucTester system configuration

All UK Retrotec DucTesters come complete with the following:

Model 450 fan set with flow rings ranged 74/47/29/18/11/7 and 3, power lead, 4 m x 100 mm diameter flexible ducting, flex duct adapter, DM32-20 gauge set including tubing, accessory kit & fan control umbilical chord, batteries, charger and case, duct flange and manuals.

Common customer questions & answers

QQuestion There is no power on the construction site so can this unit be run off a generator?
AAnswer No. If you run this item off a generator it is possible to damage the fan motor.
QQuestion The fan power on the Retrotec 451 ramps up and down and doesn't appear to be a steady flow - why might this be?
AAnswer 1. Check the duct system being tested, and internal or external door/flap may be moving and affecting pressures and therefore the fan power is reacting to this. 2. You may need to carry out a manual test rather than an AutoTest/Semi Autotest. Increase the power slowly to the desired pressures. If using AutoTest in a tight system sometimes the unit can't find the medium to settle at and keeps trying by applying or reducing power.
QQuestion I have set my pressure on the DM32 gauge, but the 451 fan does not seem to be able to hold a steady pressure and jumps back and forth - what can I do to resolve this?
AAnswer Often it is better to run a manual test, and control the fan speed rather than set a pressure. You can then increase the fan speed up to the desired pressure and achieve more stability. So increase the fan speed from 1% in increments upwards using the FM32 and check the pressures being shown on the gauge.
