ACIN Instrumenten BV FlowFinder-mk2 | Air capture hood

Contact Instrument Solutions

The ACIN FlowFinder-Mk2 is designed for accurate air volume flow measurements used to balance and commission mechanical ventilation systems. The measuring principle of the FlowFinder is based on the zero pressure compensation method where the resistance of the measuring instrument is compensated for by means of a controlled fan. With a typical battery life 12 hours this instrument is the ideal tool for the busy engineer who is taking measurements throughout the day.

Typical applications include air conditioning systems with low terminal resistance and low flow terminals such as those in domestic ventilation systems (UK Types 1, 3 and 4 )

Features

Method of operation

The ACIN FlowFinder-Mk2 has a full color touch screen with an easy interface to set up your measurement and storage options. Taking measurements with the automated FlowFinder is very simple: place the instrument over a supply or exhaust terminal, push the button and wait 10 seconds. No zero-calibration is needed and the instrument automatically detects the flow direction. The unit adjusts its fan speed until a stable zero pressure drop over the instrument is reached so that the instrument has zero resistance and therefore doesn’t disturb the ventilation system. The result of the measurement appears on the touch screen in pre-selectable units l/s, m/ h or CFM together with the air temperature in °C or °F and the relative humidity (0 to100 %) of the air.

Measuring range

The FlowFinder-Mk2 operation is based on a proven control algorithm ensuring excellent repeatability and stability. The measuring range is 10 to 550 m³ / h with zero pressure compensation and up to 850 m³/h with calculated pressure compensation.

Common customer questions & answers

QQuestion How do I name the storage files for the Acin?
AAnswer The SD card is intentionally blank when you receive it. Using a PC or laptop (ideally with an SD card slot or SD reader) open up either a WordPad or Notes type editor, and setup and name the data storage labels you will want to use, ensuring you use the square brackets around each name [] i.e. [Kitchen] [Bathroom 1] [Bathroom 2] and so on.
Save this file as names.txt onto the SD card. When the SD card is then inserted into the ACIN, the buttons will have the names on them as set, and you can then choose where to store your data to - Ensure that you measuring in the Validate mode to be able to see the file locations to store the data to.
