Allocation of design responsibilities for building engineering services - a code of conduct to avoid conflict (Superseded) (TN 21/97)

Overview

Presents an update of BSRIA TN 8/94 'The allocation of Design Responsibilities for Building Engineering Services - A code of conduct to avoid conflict', which was developed in response to the fact that many of the causes of conflict in the building services industry were due to a lack of clear understanding regarding the division of responsibilities between the parties, the so-called 'fuzzy edge disease' of the industry. Explains the root causes of conflict associated with design responsibilities, proposes methods by which the conflict situations identified might be avoided and provides a set of pro forma lists of design activities as an aid to implementing the proposed recommendations.
