This introductory webinar follows on from the earlier webinar on Voltage Current, Resistance and Earthing. It explains two further measurements of electricity: power and energy. As well as explaining basic calculations of power and energy, it explains how the resistance in cables results in power losses, and how these can be reduced by utilising higher supply voltages. It also introduces alternating current (AC) electricity, and how transformers can be used to convert one voltage of AC to another. Different types of transformers will be discussed. Delegates will need access to a calculator, as a short calculation exercise will be included.
