BSRIA's 3-day disability access survey course will ensure you are up to speed with all current legislation and guidelines to ensure your building meets the reasonable needs of the Equality act (which incorporates the Disability Discrimination Act) and is based on the new British Standard BS8300 2018 Parts 1 and 2 Design of an Accessible and Inclusive Built Environment. At the end of the course the delegates will be able to undertake simple audits on a broad range of public buildings

Delegates should have either some knowledge of buildings or an understanding of the disability agenda and should be able to read building plans

An access audit is the evaluation of a building or service and its accessibility and inclusiveness for disabled people. The Equality Act is split into several sections, the relevant one most generally related to Access Audits is contained in section 3 which covers provision of services to members of the public.

This training course will give you the skills and knowledge required to understand an inspection of a site and how to best approach any issues from a member of the public view point.
