The Country reports provide information on market size, historic data and forecasts segmented by product type (data centre vs LAN, copper and fibre, cable and connectivity, Categories, MPO), sales by suppliers.
Two thirds of the countries researched in 2023 and beginning of 2024 have recovered or are exceeding pre-pandemic LAN sales levels in USD. The biggest increases are in Saudi Arabia, France, Spain and Brazil. At the other end of the scale, India, Japan, Norway and Canada are struggling to recover. Looking at the recovery measured by copper cables sold, only few countries have performed well, including Spain, Sweden and Finland. Nearly all countries are below or far below pre-pandemic levels. The recovery in LAN in value is mainly due to the significant price increase seen over the last three years but also due an increase in higher value products such as Cat 6A.
The World excel also includes a summary with key numbers and trends, an overview of the top 12 suppliers by product area and region. The country reports include detailed information about the market overall, LAN vs data centres, trends, forecast, key suppliers, segmentation by product type and channel to market. The LAN sector decreased by 7% in 2023 as it was affected by high stock levels, unfavourable macro-economic factors and a slowdown in the office vertical due to hybrid working. The data centre segment was also affected by the above and in addition had to face power restraints in some markets. Overall, the global DC segment remained stable in 2023.
