Elcomponents EnergyPro EP240 hire kit | Energy analyser

Contact Instrument Solutions

Available to hire from Instrument Solutions is the Elcomponents EnergyPro EP240 analyser. It comes complete with a memory card, download adaptor, voltage leads (IEC 1010 1000V cat lll), 3 x 2-2000A Flex CT's and PowerView software

The EnergyPro is the ideal tool for load profiling and energy survey work. Its design allows it to work out any wrong connections to a 3 phase system and correct these automatically. This reduces the chance of costly mistakes in the field - especially useful for inexperienced operators. The unit additionally offers a completely safe connection option using voltage from a wall socket even when monitoring 3 phase supplies. The simple to follow graphic display guides the user through the set up and connection procedures, and the memory allows very fast storage rates down to 1 second intervals if required.

Features

  • Automatically detects configuration and corrects connection errors, i.e. reversed CT's, swapped phases etc.
  • Graphical display for set up and real time data display of V, I, PF, KW, KVA, KVAR, Total KWHR, Ave. KW/HR.
  • Log interval selectable from one second to 30 minutes.
  • Data stored on large removable data storage card and transferred to PC via reader with USB connection.
  • Supported by PowerView software enabling users to view data, plot graphs, analyse results, and produce reports.

**Please note: The card reader supplied is not compatible with Windows Vista**

Technical

All Instrument Hire models are fitted with a data storage card with a minimum capacity of 32MB. This equates to the following run times.

Log intervals vs. Run times

1 second = 17 hours     5 seconds = 3 days     10 seconds = 7 days     15 seconds = 10 days     30 seconds = 21 days     1 minute = 42 days     5 minutes = 214 days     10 minutes = 428 days     15 minutes = 642 days     30 minutes = 1285 days

Common customer questions & answers

QQuestion Why is the man not running across the screen when I have pushed F2 to start logging?
AAnswer The F2 button has to be held down and the unit will countdown from 5 to 0, then the unit will start logging. The man will run on the spot, then after a short time will run across the screen. To stop the unit logging you have to repeat by holding the F2 button down. The unit will again countdown from 5 to 0 and logging will have been stopped.
QQuestion I have downloaded data to Excel on my computer and all values have minus signs in front e.g. -240, -239, -243 volts. Whats wrong?
AAnswer The reason for a the minus in front of the reading is caused by the CT's being incorrectly connected to the cables i.e. the current flow does not follow the direction arrows indicated on the clamps.
QQuestion On PC download of my data the readings don’t match the expected values of i.e amps, volts, kVA, whats wrong?
AAnswer The most likely cause is that the range on the CT's (blue type only via the amp selection control box) is not the same as that selected within the instrument e.g.300 Amps switchable box and 3000 Amps within the instrument.
QQuestion I can't seem to get the Elcomponent power quality logger to start - have I missed a step? The man won't start running!
AAnswer It may be that the unit requires charging from the mains; if the battery power is too low the unit won't allow logging to begin. Try again after charging the unit as this often rectifies the issue, and you should be able to proceed to start the unit logging (and see the man running across the screen to indicate).
