Testo 417

Contact Instrument Solutions

Overview

The Testo 417 anemometer features a fixed 100mm vane to measure airflow, volume flow and temperature. Flow direction is also indicated in the display which makes this instrument an extremely versatile product especially when used in conjuction with the optional volume flow hood set and flow straightener (used for swirl type grilles and diffusers)

Features

Features include:-

  • Direction of flow recognition
  • Temperature, flow and volume flow measurement
  • Multi-point and timed mean calculation
  • Max/min values
  • Hold button to freeze readings
  • Display light
  • Auto Off function

For details of the optional Testo volume flow hood sets please see separate entry within the air cature hood section of the web site. This is ideal for testing ventilation systems to Part F of the UK Building Regulations. UKAS calibrations for air volume are also availabe from the BSRIA Instrument Solutions Laboratory. The flow straightner is used when measuring air volumes from swirl type grilles. Here this product eleiminates false readings which can be created as the direction of flow from the swirl grille can either increases or decreases the speed of the anemometer.

Common customer questions & answers

QQuestion Can the instrument be supplied with a different sized vane head?
AAnswer No, the probe is permanently attached so an alternative instrument is required if measurements are to be undertaken.
QQuestion Can I use any417 vane anemometer with the anyhoodto measure air volume?
AAnswer No, these items are specifically designed for use with the Testo hood (funnel) kits. It should also be remembered that the instrumentation must be calibrated for volume flow so that the errors in the complete system are known.
