As an endorsing partner, BSRIA is pleased to announce this year’s ISH Exhibition, held at the Frankfurt Messe from 10-14 March, set a new record for the number of exhibitors and visitors. There were 2,465 exhibitors covering sanitary ware, heating, air-conditioning and controls, and 198,000 visitors, up from 188,000 the previous occasion.
On the first day of the exhibition, BSRIA’s Zoltan Karpathy was invited to be the keynote speaker at the ISH Gebäude-Forum, organised by BTGA - Bundesindustrieverband Technische Gebäudeausrüstung e.V. (Federal Industrial Association for Technical Building Installations and Services). The presentation ‘The European Markets of Building Automation and Controls’ kicked-off a conference solely in German focusing on commercial and residential building automation, energy efficiency using building controls, cyber-security and BIM.
On Wednesday 11th February, BSRIA gave an industry presentation looking at the latest trends in the industry, the drivers and identifying the solutions that will shape the future of the industry. The presentation was well attended with over 100 delegates representing the major global manufacturers. The delegates were treated to presentations from BSRIA leading industry experts, versions of these presentations are available through Slideshare or to download here (simple regstration required):
As a part of the BSRIA 60 year celebrations, BSRIA has set up the Diamond Group Forum, which is a senior executive network looking at the industry landscape from 5 to 20 years hence. The first European event met at ISH, with twenty-five senior industry executives joining us to discuss what Generation Z (those born between 1995 and 2015) would expect from the buildings they occupy in twenty years’ time. In summary their answers were simplicity, manageability and invisibility (of technology). Anne King, Marketing Director at BSRIA said “this was a highlight of the show for BSRIA. Synthesising opinions to provide good forecasts, often very long term is at the heart of BSRIA’s activity. We were very pleased to have the input of so many senior personnel to help us”.
Krystyna Dawson, Senior Manager – Heating & Renewables Market Intelligence said “It was a very good and very well attended show overall. We have had two successful events with very good feedback on presentations on discussions afterwards. Topics discussed during the Diamond Group and presented during the Industry Presentation were very much in line with what has been perceived as “hot” topics for the show: integration of systems, controls, connectivity / internet of things, smart future – until now it was mostly talk about it, now products are there and legislative push will add dynamic to the markets. Heat Interface Units are gaining importance together with the growing interest for heat networks and communal heating. BSRIA has discussed it all, presenting a high level of knowledge of the subjects and giving views for further market development.”
BSRIA is already looking forward to working with Messe Frankfurt to ensure that the 2017 event is even more successful and continues to be a record breaking show.
