Heat pump testing - New UKAS accreditation for BSRIASeptember 2008

BSRIA to receive UKAS accreditation for heat pump testing

September 2008

BSRIA is the first UK laboratory that will receive UKAS accreditation for testing of heat pumps and air conditioning systems to EN 14511.

UKAS accreditation is recognised throughout the world and will bring added value and recognition to BSRIA testing of these products.

Greg King, Head of BSRIA Test & Certification, says: "This BSRIA's testing facility plays an important role in the field of increasing the quality of the heat pump technology. Beside standard tests BSRIA provides manufactures with the opportunity to use our expertise and test rig also for product development."

BSRIA is already accredited by UKAS as a Notified Body for testing boilers, chimneys and flues, radiators, and high temperature smoke and heat extraction fans.

This new accreditation will mean we have been assessed against internationally recognised standard and are able to further demonstrate our competence, impartiality and performance capability.

The scope of accrediation will include performance and efficiency testing of the following product range:

  • air to water
  • water to air
  • water to water (up to 200kW)
  • ground source heat pumps water to water

Our customers will have assurance of technical quality of our test facilities and services.
