Bracknell is right in the middle of UK's Silicon valley with many blue chip companies occupying prestige buildings in the area. It is fast becoming realised that optimal performance of expensive staff in these knowledge-based enterprises is heavily reliant on well managed and maintained premises. But where do we get the skilled and motivated people to keep these buildings on top-line performance?
BSRIA is delighted to support the introduction of a new multi-disciplinary Apprenticeship scheme pioneered by Bracknell & Wokingham College. Intended primarily to bring young employees of local businesses up to NVQ Level 3 grade in the M&E maintenance field it has taken on board the pressing need for a truly multi-disciplinary approach. A four year course will see candidates with City & Guilds qualifications covering a full range of electrical, H&V and electronic skills together with enhanced basic English, Maths and IT. Working on day release in the new, well-appointed college facility the cost to the employer is zero for under 18s, around £1000 per year for 19s and over and is nil cost to the apprentice.
BSRIA is working with the college to add specific new themes to augment the assessed course modules. Energy analysis, Whole Life Costing, and Instrumentation are just three of the proposed additions where we aim to make sure that emerging technologies and themes are introduced into their working practices.
The cost of university education is making people really think about the value of a degree, an Apprenticeship is likely to become an increasingly effective way of earning whilst learning and we are delighted to support this venture.
You can find out more about the course by contacting the college directly on 01344 766678 or email@example.com.
