BSRIA staging 2016 Soft Landings ConferenceMay 2016

Roderic Bunn, manager of the Soft Landings process at BSRIA

BSRIA is delighted to be staging its inaugural 2016 Soft Landings Conference: practical solutions for real-world projects. It will take place on Thursday 23rd June at The Royal Society of Arts in London.

Soft Landings is a BSRIA-developed process that helps to solve the performance gap between design intentions and operational outcomes. It provides a step-by-step process for clients and their project teams to follow in order to avoid pitfalls and deliver a better-performing product.

No matter whether the project is attempting to achieve exemplary environmental standards, or is a simple extension or retrofit of an existing building, the Soft Landings culture can be applied to ensure outcomes match client’s expectations.

This interactive conference is aimed at both lay and expert clients and construction professionals who intend to focus more on improved operational outcomes for delivering better buildings.

The event includes: keynote speeches from clients; case studies of successful projects; papers delivered by expert practicioners from the Soft Landings Network; a special section on Government Soft Landings for central government and public sector projects.

Practical workshops to improve: stakeholder engagement; procurement; planning and delivering better handovers; post occupant evaluation; targets for energy efficiency; occupant health and wellbeing.

Roderic Bunn, manager of the Soft Landings process at BSRIA, says that the conference is an ideal opportunity for clients and construction professionals to learn from people who have applied Soft Landings on real projects: “Our speakers are drawn from our highly active Soft Landings Network, who have been testing and developing many Soft Landings techniques and procedures,” said Bunn. “Part of the culture of Soft Landings is to share experience and this event will tackle real issues and offer some practical solutions. It also won’t be a series of presentations” he added, “we will be involving delegates in workshop and feedback sessions so that everyone comes out with some lessons learned”.

Registration is at 9:00 hrs and the event will close at 17.00 hrs.

Member rate is £150.00 for first delegate and £125.00 for subsequent delegates.
