BSRIA is delighted to announce that its northern division has entered into a reciprocal membership with Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
The two associations have mutually beneficial business interests, delivering improvement in the built environment, lobbying issues and the growth of the ‘Northern Powerhouse’.
BSRIA Business Manager for the North of England, June Davis, said: “I am delighted that BSRIA has entered into this agreement with Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Both organisations clearly have reciprocal business matters at their core, so it will be easier to ‘sing from the same hymn sheet’ and campaign to government as one.
Such important economic issues for the region include the HS3 Manchester-Leeds rail link to Crossrail 2, the £230m earmarked for road improvements in the north of England, including upgrades to the M62 between Liverpool and Hull and the Trans-Pennine road tunnel between Sheffield and Manchester in the Peak District.
The many and varied Chamber of Commerce networking events throughout the year are also essential for me to network with other beneficial businesses to BSRIA.”
Stella Bowdell, Director of Membership at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are very pleased to be working more closely with BSRIA. We have over 700 Chamber members in the sector, and the increased interest in Greater Manchester, linked to devolution and the Northern Powerhouse, makes it more important than ever to collaborate with like-minded organisations to support these companies.”
June started in January 2016 as an essential step in BSRIA’s continued development of this key area which highlights our commitment to ‘UK plc’.
Her focus is to develop new business opportunities, customers and prospects for BSRIA in the ‘Northern Powerhouse’, including maintaining existing business in the region. June’s remit is to establish BSRIA’s market position as the leading organisation for its diverse portfolio.
