Geotechnical Engineering refers to a specialism of Civil Engineering and Geology.
Engineers are responsible for the analysis of the ground on and around the construction site and determining its suitability for construction. They will also assess geological hazards and take steps to minimise their impact on the engineering process.
Similarly, Geotechnical Contractors will conduct technical analysis and risk assessments of earth materials and geological hazards.
This will involve assessing integrity and composition of the soil on the construction site and assisting Architects and Contractors during the design phase to determine a site’s suitability for a project.
