Predominantly now focused on communal heating, his broad technical industry knowledge now puts him in a strong position to support and contribute to the strategic approach of BSRIA.

Originally with a controls and mechanical background he has extensive experience working with both renewable technologies and traditional heating solutions, with everyday involvement in engineering projects throughout the project lifecycle, delivering technical and commercial support. Having worked for several market leaders, including: Somfy, Drayton Controls, Worcester Bosch, and Switch 2. He believes it’s important that as an industry we get the basics covered, while also embracing and educating on new technologies. It’s also apparent at industry meetings that there is still a real issue around the availability of datasets for various areas of building performance. The ability to anonymise, collect and share data in the industry is still a barrier, something that needs addressing urgently as we move towards regulation.

Additionally, for several years he was an active Local Educational Authority Governor. Undertaking this role in his spare time. In the position for eight years, as a result, becoming Chair of the Governing Body and various subcommittee groups.
